Cultivation Tech 2 – 3

General Position Summary
The Cultivation Technician is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day procedures that ensure the successful cultivation of cannabis plants. This position will be responsible for following ALL Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as they relate to various aspects of our cultivation and maintaining compliance within our facility at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all SOPs, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties
  • Reports to the Cultivation Lead/Manager for daily tasks
  • General cleaning duties, e.g., scrubbing and sanitizing trays in various flowering rooms; cleaning miscellaneous growing equipment to maintain protocols
  • Assist with the coordination of all grow operations including: Daily Activities, Quality Assurance, Potting, Manicuring, Harvesting, and pruning as well as assuring compliance with local, state, and federal licensing requirements
  • Submits daily digital checklists and immediately reports any abnormal plant health or evidence of pests/disease to the Lead
  • Transfers plants from one stage to the next; de-leafing plants, removing waste, weighing & tracking plant waste
  • Responsible for completing any work assigned to them during their scheduled shift, as well as information sharing
  • Responsible for following all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties
  • Inspect all emitters daily, ensuring correct positioning and that hoses are dripping properly
  • Complies with safety requirements at all times
  • Aides in all aspects of plant life cycle, including but not limited to; plant watering, defoliating, cleaning, feeding, fertilizing, canopy maintenance and transplanting, as assigned
  • Releases beneficial/predatory insects
  • Affixing METRC tags to plant lots and individual plants
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations converting various units of measurements
  • Escalate issues to appropriate channels using clear written/verbal communication
  • Follows Integrated Pest Management procedures to prevent contamination and ensure overall plant health
  • Perform all assigned duties required to ensure a clean and safe cultivation facility
  • Cataloging and maintaining organization of plants, tags, and pruning biomass
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all cultivation equipment and tools
  • Communicates clearly, effectively, and proactively with management and team members
  • Work closely with management to anticipate challenges and provide clarity around daily plant changes

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 or over
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, with the use of a smartphone
  • May require working rotating shifts with varied hours/day, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Adhere to company mission statement, while maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to perform carrying, grasping, lifting, walking, standing, use of ladder, use of power tools, some bending/crouching, stooping, stretching, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus, and have the ability to walk on uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and perform work on catwalks 20 ft above ground floor.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and balance up to 75 lbs. (125 lbs. with assistance) and must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and products
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as company issued respirators, face coverings, coveralls, gloves, hair/beard nets, as needed, as this position may be exposed to splash hazards, high temperatures, high humidity, and
  • chemicals
  • Must not be allergic to or have a fear of insects

Work Environment

● While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving
mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to herbal aromas, dust, and/or
airborne particles
● Must be able to work at a fast pace under warm cultivation lights – flowering rooms
average 82+ degrees
● The employee regularly works in high, precarious places
● The employee works under warm cultivation lights – flowering rooms average 82+ degrees
● The employee works on 3 grow levels exceeding 20 ft above ground floor
● Must be able to work on an environment with moderate to loud noise level

Compensation

  • $15 – $20 an hour
